- I am/was never one to wake up easily and so Tonpi learned that the best way to get me up in the morning (whether it was cause he wanted his food or sometimes because he knew I was supposed to wake up (a lot of the time due to the the alarm going off and me turning it off)) was to annoy me. Back in the dorm I had this stereo system that with a light touch would pop open the cassette tape (or the DAT) section, he would step on the button and proceed to open and then close the section. Doing this multiple times at a rapid rate would make a whirring noise which would get me up in a huff. Later, when that was no longer an option he would come over and step on my head. Everytime we moved and there was a different way to annoy me in the morning he would find it. The last trick he had was to chew my hair on my head.
- He loved to sleep in boxes and brown paper bags. Oddly enough, the older the box (the less shiny and thus less coating) the better. Any new box he would find, he would first attempt to get into, then scratch it up, then figure out if he could curl up in it. Everytime we moved he would pick out a few boxes that would become 'his' and those I would leave around cluttering the apartment.
- His favorite places to be scritched and petted was his nose and under his chin. He loved getting his neck rubbed and he hated getting rubbed at the base of his tail. He had this face he would make when he was loving the scritches and his purr was a low rumble...
